DESCRIPTION OF VT-1 METHOD
VITA-TEST-1 — a scientifically validated risk-diagnostic method protected by RF Patent for an invention No. 2328220 dated 10/02/2008 ("Method of diagnosing the risk profile of vitamins and trace elements deficiencies", author- professor, PhD Vladimir Novoselov)
The VITA-TEST-1 method is based on a questionnaire/assessment form. The questionnaire contains approximately 120 questions about your well-being, habits, lifestyle, and comorbidities — factors that increase the risk of vitamin and trace element deficiencies. Each question is linked to a list of specific vitamins and trace elements for which the body’s need increases if the patient has a particular confirmed condition, symptom, or habit (for example, a positive response to the symptom “I have diagnosed anemia” is reliably associated with a risk of deficiency and the need for supplemental intake of certain vitamins — B12, C, Folate, as well as iron, copper, etc. — as confirmed by over 30 independent full-scale studies conducted by scientists in several countries).
The association between the Questionnaire’s indicators/questions and vitamin and trace elements deficiency or additional requirements was established based on an expert evaluation of data from specialized scientific literature.
The key factor determining the diagnostic significance of the method and the reliability of the risk assessment results is the selection of questionnaire questions (indicators). To select the indicators, a method of systematic qualitative and quantitative review of published scientific research results (meta-analysis) was used, as endorsed by the international Cochrane Collaboration (https://www.cochrane.org )
The questionnaire items synthesize the consensus among experts (based on domestic and international medical literature and the results of our own research—more than 300 sources) regarding the association between specific risk factors and the likelihood of developing insufficiency. The VITA-TEST-1 computer program summarizes and analyzes the test results and generates a diagnostic report, which serves as the basis for the doctor’s recommendations regarding dietary adjustments.
Scientific validation of the VITA-TEST-1 diagnostic system, conducted during an examination of over 500 patients in medical and preventive care facilities, health resorts, and educational institutions in Russia, led to the following conclusions:
- Diagnosis VITA-TEST-1, when performed correctly, provides quick access to important information about the risk profile for nutritional deficiencies— sufficient to develop, individualized recommendations for improving nutrition quality, dietary prevention of diet-related diseases, and optimal food choice — including priority sources of vitamins and trace elements, as well as dietary supplements.
A completed VITA-TEST-1 Questionnaire in its standard format serves as an important supplementary source of medical history information for the physician or consultant;
- The results of the VITA-TEST-1 diagnostic assessment, based on a comprehensive evaluation of health indicators, clearly confirm for the first time the link between a complex of adverse factors affecting the body and diseases, and an individual’s risk level of nutritional deficiency in 15 vitamins and 7 trace elements, and provide recommendations on the optimal choice of food sources of nutrients, which significantly increases the patient’s personal motivation to make positive dietary changes and enhances the effectiveness of dietary prevention of diseases;
- The method can be used only for risk profile diagnostics — a comparative assessment of the likelihood of developing vitamin and mineral deficiencies—and is not applicable for determining the content (amount) of vitamins and minerals in the body; it is not suitable for the accurate diagnosis of diseases (including hypovitaminosis and trace element deficiencies). VITA-TEST-1 does not replace laboratory and instrumental diagnostics and cannot contradict their results.
- VITA-TEST-1 is based on survey data — a patient’s subjective assessment of their health indicators — to identify the risk of developing micronutrient deficiencies. For this reason, the results of VITA-TEST-1 cannot replace data from objective clinical examinations and laboratory diagnostics of diseases; they cannot be used for comparison with such data, nor do they substitute for or replace these results. An accurate diagnosis of a disease can only be made by the attending physician based on clinical and laboratory examinations.
- This method is not applicable for assessing the risk profile of vitamin and trace element deficiencies when examining children or patients in the acute phase of diseases accompanied by nervous system disorders, manifestations (specific symptoms) affecting the skin and mucous membranes, pain, fever, confusion, and an impaired perception of reality.
